Blackbird - Of Heroes and Enemies


LouellaDeville @LouellaDeville_ @PlanetMosh @puresteelrec  reviews German Rock Band Blackbird's new album Of Heroes and Enemies released via Pure Steel Records on 28th March 2013. With twenty-five headline shows already under their bill, oops I mean belt, Blackbird have also managed to peck , I mean bag, support slots with Rhino Bucket, The Milestones and Supagroup. I watched the video for Fire Your Guns and was immediately hooked – being a big AC/DC fan it was a case of I want to review this new Aussie band!  That was my mistake because they're not Australian, Blackbird actually hail from Zweibrücken in Germany. They site their influences as AC/DC, Airbourne and Rhino Bucket and whilst Rhino Bucket aren't Australian they have the same dirty Rock 'n' Roll sound which goes hand in hand with Australian rock. A sound which is obviously going global. Blackbird sound like all the Australian greats such as  AC/DC, Airbourne and Rose Tattoo all rolled into one big, fat,  spicy bratwurst! Their album Of Heroes and Enemies was released today (28th March) via Pure Steel Records.
