Avelion - Liquid Breathing

Industrial music influenced Italian metallers Avelion released a three-song EP, titled Liquid Breathing, in November 2013. Highly focused on electronic or digital sounding instrumentation, the band incorporates a lot of different keyboard sounds, mixed with digital "djenty" guitar. Avelion, who revamped their lineup in 2013, describes themselves as melodic progressive metal with djent influences. Liquid Breathing was recorded and mixed at Sliver Studio Music, and mastered at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden by Jens Bogren. Songs sound tense and circumspect, highly compressed and digitized for a modern "mp3″ listening audience. Liquid Breathing sounds like it's well recorded and at least average for their genre. The melodic metal portion of the songs often takes some time to develop. Recommended for fans of electronica, house, urban dance music, and the like, this isn't really something your average Saxon or Iron Maiden fan would dig unless they have a very diverse listening palate.
