London based Alexa de Strange have released their EP "Tits of death". Definitely a title designed to get attention and it does make a nice change from all those bands releasing self titled EPs and albums (are they really that short of imagination that they can't think of a decent album title). I've seen the band play live doing a fairly short set, so was looking forwad to hearing the EP, and it doesnt disappoint. The EP starts with "Blaze (in the heart of hell), a good straightforward rock song with some nice guitar work and an almost punk style of vocals "Stardust" gives a change of pace and style with a good groove and some interesting vocals. "Luxxxurious" has got a fairly distinctive sound – it's rock but with a dose of pop or disco mixed in, so it's really catchy – it reminds me of DOnna Summer's "I feel love" somehow, but made into a rock song. That may be a strange description, but this really is far too catchy to be just called rock. "If only" shows a different side to the band as the vocals of Francesca Lee are the centre of attention with the music [...]
