Plainview are a charismatically mental, tour hungry band who are new to the live music circuit with this being only their sixth ever gig (as a band). With their debut album already in the bag (literally in my case), they are out touring it in various locations across England and Wales in support of Martyr de Mona. Planet Mosh managed to catch their London show. Opening with the gentle boldness of Slip Through Your Fingers, they eased us into their set, but not before singer David Smale had belted out a wee scream. Several more of which appeared throughout their set. Second song Solitaire opened with a hint of southern rock groove, before tracing her lines to a smooth rock sound and a great eighties rock style guitar solo from David's brother Johnny Smale. A new song called Left Yourself Behind was followed by the fantastic Take What You Want full of syncopation and triplets, which showed the strength in David's voice in both his control of the gentle notes and his controlled emphasis on the rock tones.
