Following on from 2012's 'The End Of Existence' EP Northern Irish Death Metal young guns Katabolisis return with their blistering follow-up – 'Atrocity'. If you had checked out the 'End Of Existence' EP you could almost be forgiven for giving this one a miss, while the musicianship was there, the vocals had largely been lost in theAtrocity EP Following on from 2012's 'The End Of Existence' EP Northern Irish Death Metal young guns Katabolisis return with their blistering follow-up – 'Atrocity'. If you had checked out the 'End Of Existence' EP you could almost be forgiven for giving this one a miss, while the musicianship was there, the vocals had largely been lost in the mix, and left the listener somewhat disappointed. However this is nothing like that. This time around the guys have spent a bit of hard earned cash and got the mastering just right. Katabolisis have lost none of their excellent musical qualities, the twin guitar attack of Matt Medlow and Derek Wylie is at times dark and heavy, just as you would expect, but at other times the solos and fills are soaring and intricate. Timothy Hanna and Sean McQuillan provide an equally ferocious backline and Mark Chambers vocals snarl at the listener like some kind of feral beast, then just when you've got to grips with that the vocals drop an octave or two, as on 'Order Of Serpents' & you wonder just what kind of beast could sound as guttural as this?
