Rising Belfast hard rockers Maverick have just landed the biggest gig of their careers to date - as they have confirmed as the support act for Y&T when the San Francisco outfit's 40th anniversary tour pulls into the city's Limelight 1 on Wednesday November 12. Reacting to the announcement on their Facebook page, the band said: "This is a massive moment for us. Y&T are one of our favourite bands and to support them on a monumental and landmark 40th anniversary gig in one of the top venues in NI is both an honour and a privilege! We will have our work cut out for us that night!" As previously reported on PM, Maverick are putting the finishing touches to their debut album, 'Quid Pro Quo', which will be released via Massacre Records on November 28. In the meantime, Maverick headline Belfast's Empire Music Hall – with support from 'Tric, Baleful Creed and Lipstik Lizards – on Thursday June 5 (https://www.facebook.com/events/1424256054509144/) and then support Million Dollar Reload at the newly re-opened Sanitarium in Londonderry on Saturday June 7.
